Ukraine sees 2.5% rise in sugar beet output in 10 months

Ukraine's leader in the sugar beet output over the period under review was Zaporizhia region, where the farmers harvested 1.826 million tonnes of beet as of November 1. It is followed by Khmelnytsky region  with 1.16 million tonnes and Poltava region with 1.02 million tonnes, it said.

Read alsoUkrainian refineries produce 874,300 tonnes of sugar since Aug 30The lowest output of sugar beets in January-October 2017 was recorded in Luhansk region (200 tonnes), Ivano-Frankivsk region (3,500 tonnes), and Dnipropetrovsk region (37,300 tonnes).

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian sugar refineries had processed 9.64 million tonnes of sugar beets since the launch of the current sugar production season on August 30, 2017.

In 2016, the output of raw materials for sugar production increased by 30% against 2015, while sugar output rose by 40%.
