Ukraine's sugar beet output in January-October 2017 increased by 2.5% year-over-year (y-o-y), to 9.19 million tonnes, according to the State Statistics Service's press service.
Ukraine's leader in the sugar beet output over the period under review was Zaporizhia region, where the farmers harvested 1.826 million tonnes of beet as of November 1. It is followed by Khmelnytsky region with 1.16 million tonnes and Poltava region with 1.02 million tonnes, it said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian sugar refineries had processed 9.64 million tonnes of sugar beets since the launch of the current sugar production season on August 30, 2017.
In 2016, the output of raw materials for sugar production increased by 30% against 2015, while sugar output rose by 40%.
