Ukraine saw a 92% rise in imports of passenger cars in the three quarters of 2017 year-over-year (y-o-y), to 109,600 units, according to the Ukrautoprom Association's press service.
Car imports in the nine months were estimated at US$1.5 billion.
"Some 60,500 new vehicles worth almost $1.2 billion and 49,100 cars with mileage estimated at $346 million were imported," it said.
The largest number of cars, 69,600 units, was imported to Ukraine from the EU, which accounted over 63% of total car imports over the period under review.

Japan ranked second with 13,900 cars imported to Ukraine, of which new cars accounted for 88.5%.
France became third with 10,000 cars, including 8,900 used cars, imported to Ukraine.
As UNIAN reported earlier, imports of passenger cars to Ukraine almost doubled in the first half of 2017 y-o-y, to 67,900 units, according to the association.
