Ukraine sees industrial output rise in Oct 2017 after Sep fall

The drop in industrial output in October, taking into account the adjustment to the effect of calendar days, accelerated to 0.5% y-o-y after a 0.1% decline in September y-o-y, it said.

The industrial production grew by 6.9% in October 2017 from September 2017, without taking into account seasonal adjustment, while dropped by 0.1% with such adjustment.

The Ukrainian industrial output decreased by 0.2% in January-October 2017 y-o-y.

The largest decline in annual terms was recorded in the extraction of hard and brown coal (by 25.1%), production of electrical equipment (by 10.5%), and production of coke and refined products (by 10.3%).

The State Statistics Service said that the data excluded reports from temporarily occupied areas in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol, as well as in the zone of Anti-Terrorist Operation.

Ukraine enjoyed a 2.4% increase in industrial output in 2016 against 2015, after the decline over the four consecutive years.
