PM Groysman projects Ukraine's economic growth at over 3% in 2018

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman is confident that the country's economic growth in 2018 will top 3%, the benchmark stipulated in the draft national budget.

"I am absolutely convinced that we will be able to achieve economic growth exceeding 3% next year," he told a Ukrainian TV channel.

According to the prime minister, the accelerated economic growth will not only create jobs and increase Ukrainians' incomes, but also stabilize the situation in the country.

As UNIAN reported, Groysman said earlier that the government planned to achieve economic growth surpassing 5% in 2018.

Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers reviewed the forecast of GDP growth in Ukraine in 2017 downwards to 1.8% from 3%.

Ukraine's National Bank estimates that the country's GDP may grow by 1.9% in 2017, by 3% in 2018, and by 4% in 2019.

The International Monetary Fund forecasts the country's GDP may grow by 2% in 2017, by 3.2% in 2018, and by 3.5% in 2019.
