SpetsTechnoExport's bidding in the GPA public tender and the signed contract indicate new public procurement prospects for Ukraine, it added.
"In the EU countries, former members of the 'Soviet bloc,' there are still many Soviet-built armored equipment and aircraft, which require modernization and maintenance. The Ukrainian defense industry has all the necessary technologies and expertise to provide such services," the press service quoted Pavlo Barbul, SpetsTechnoExport's director, as saying.
As reported, Ukraine and the European Union are parties to the GPA of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
"The agreement provides for a mutual access to the public procurement markets, determines the terms of participation, and guarantees equal and non-discriminatory principles with respect to foreign participants," the report said.
