Ukrainian farmers have harvested 59.9 million tonnes of grain and leguminous crops from 14 million hectares (96% of the target) as of November 29, with an average yield of 4.26 tonnes per hectare, according to the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry's press service.
In particular, 21.6 million tonnes of maize was threshed from an area of 4 million hectares (90%) with an average yield of 5.36 tonnes per hectare.
It was reported earlier that Ukrainian farmers had finished harvesting buckwheat and millet, having threshed 200,000 tonnes of the product from 181,000 hectares (100%), and 83,000 tonnes from 56,000 hectares (100%), respectively.
In addition, the agrarians harvested 11.9 million tonnes of sunflower from an area of 5.92 million hectares (99%), 3.7 million tonnes of soybeans from 1.9 million hectares (98%), as well as dug 14.4 million tonnes of sugar beet from 314,000 hectares (99%).

Ukrainian farmers planted 8.1 million hectares of winter crops and green forage in 2016, which was 3.8% up against 2015. At the same time, the area for grain crops increased by 1.5%, to 7,200 hectares, the State Statistics Service said.
