Living wage increased in Ukraine from Dec 1

Starting December 1, the living wage for able-bodied persons has increased by UAH 78 (4.63%) to UAH 1,762, according to the law "On the State Budget for 2017".

Thus, the monthly living wage per person is set at UAH 1,700 (increased by UAH 76) from December 1, for children under six years old – at UAH 1,492 (increased by UAH 66), for children from 6 to 18 years – at UAH 1,860 (increased by UAH 83), for able-bodied persons – at UAH 1,762 (increased by UAH 78) and for persons who have lost their ability to work – UAH 1,373 (increased by UAH 61).

In addition, due to the change in the living wage for those who have lost their ability to work, the social assistance deriving from this minimum figure has been recalculated starting December.

In particular, the amount of state social assistance from December 1 is the following: for people with disabilities of the 1st group, subgroup A – at UAH 2,876.4 (subgroup B – at UAH 2,178),  2nd and 3rd groups – at UAH 1,452; for persons with disabilities of the 2nd and 3rd groups with an allowance for care services – at UAH 1,452; for children with disabilities without an allowance for care services – at UAH 1,452.

From now on, the minimum amount of maternity benefit is UAH 440.5. In addition, the assistance is provided in the amount of 100% of the average monthly income of the applicant, but no less than 25% of the monthly statutory living wage for an able-bodied person.
