Sales of new cars in Ukraine grow by 26% in 11 months

Sales of new passenger cars in Ukraine grew by 26% in January-November 2017 year-over-year (y-o-y), to 73,100 vehicles, according to the Ukrautoprom Association's press service.

Toyota was the most popular brand in Ukraine over the period under review, its sales rose by 27% y-o-y, to 8,699 vehicles, it said.

The French brand Renault ranked second in terms of sales with 7,543 cars sold in the 11 months.

The Volkswagen brand climbed from fifth place in 2016 to fourth place in 2017, as the demand for this popular German make in Ukraine grew by 28% to 5,706 vehicles.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine saw a 1% drop in sales of new cars in November 2017 y-o-y, to 7,677 units.

Sales of new passenger cars in Ukraine in 2016 grew by 41% from 2015, to 65,500 units.

Experts project sales of new cars may grow by a third in 2017 against 2016.
