Kyiv's appeals court rules to seize property of energy minister Nasalyk for debts

Kyiv's Economic Court of Appeals has ruled to seize two land plots and a Mercedes-Benz car belonging to Ukrainian Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Ihor Nasalyk for debts to the plaintiff whose name is not disclosed, according to a court ruling of November 22, published in the Unified State Register of Court Rulings.

This referrers to a plot of land of 0.12 hectares (ha) located in the village of Protsiv of Kyiv's Boryspil region, a land plot of 0.037 ha in the village of Kozyn of Kyiv's Obukhiv district, and a 2013 Mercedes-Benz registered on March 25, 2017.

Read alsoEnergy ministry expects 60% increase in Ukraine's electricity exportsThe register does not disclose the owner's name too, but the list of the seized property and its characteristics (such as the areas of the land plots) completely coincide with Nasalyk's assets, specified in his declaration for 2016.

According to the court's ruling, the property was seized for the debts worth $1.2 million (plus UAH 2.7 million/$99,558 in interest on the debt) to the plaintiff, whose name is also not specified.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Nasalyk has been the Energy and Coal Industry Minister in the government of Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman since the middle of April 2016.

In 2016, the minister declared UAH 1.2 million ($44,248) in revenue, as well as $900,000 and UAH 1.4 million ($51,622) in monetary assets. According to the declaration register, Nasalyk is the owner of a 287.7-square-meter apartment in Kyiv, as well as a house with an area of 561.4 square meters and a land plot of 1,510 square meters in Kozyn.
