Ukraine’s state-owned gas transmission company Ukrtransgaz expects to increase in 2018 by 10 billion cubic meters, up to 93-94 bcm, the transit volumes of natural gas transported from Russia to the European Union member states, that’s compared with the last year’s result, company CEO Myroslav Khimko told a Kyiv press conference Wednesday.
"We expect transit at about 93-94 billion cubic meters of Russian gas this year, compared to the previous year. This figure is 10 bcm higher than last year," he said, reporting on the company’s performance.
Khimko also noted that by year-end, gas imports from Europe will reach 10 billion cubic meters.

According to the gas transit contract between Ukraine and Russia, Gazprom must pump via the territory of Ukraine at least 110 bcm of natural gas annually.
