"The new financial plan envisages UAH 1 billion more in taxes than in 2017, and that’s despite the fact that we invest more than UAH 3.5 billion in the safety of power units’ operations and finance completely at Energoatom’s cost the construction of a centralized storage facility for spent nuclear fuel," Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Ihor Nasalyk said, commenting on the company's financial plan.

As UNIAN reported earlier, in early November, Energoatom started construction of the Centralized Storage Facility for Spent Nuclear Fuel in the Chornobyl exclusion zone. The storage will house spent fuel from three Ukrainian nuclear power plants (Rivne, Khmelnytsky and Yuzhnoukrainsk) with the total capacity at 16,529 spent fuel assemblies for VVER-440 and VVER-1000 reactors.
