Kremenchuk-based PJSC Kryukovsky Railway Car Building Works (KRCBW), Poltava region, has fulfilled the 2017 contract for the manufacture of 38 compartment passenger cars of 61-779 model for Ukrainian state-run railways operator JSC Ukrzaliznytsia, having supplied the last three cars to the Southern Railways, according to the company's press service.
The contract was completed on December 28. In particular, 11 out of 38 cars have transformable furniture installed, it said.
"The railway cars, assembled at the KRCBW in 2017, are already operating on the South, South-West, Lviv, Odesa, and Prydniprovska railways," the press service said in a statement.
According to Deputy Director of Ukrzaliznytsia's Long-distance Passenger Transport Department, Taras Pasechnyk, 59 passenger cars that the company produced for the railway operator in 2016-2017 are a tangible upgrade of the KRCBW's passenger fleet.

As a result of close cooperation between the experts at Ukrzaliznytsia and the KRCBW, the new cars' design and interior have been updated, starting from additional outlets in compartments and shelves for oversize luggage to an automatic coffee machine, very popular among passengers.
"The updated design of new cars is ergonomic. In addition, thanks to innovations, our passenger cars have become more comfortable and convenient not only for passengers, but for Ukrzaliznytsia maintenance services as well. Their output rate in Ukraine grew to 70%. This is actually a worthy Ukrainian product," the press service added.
