Two more ships with American coal arrive in Ukraine

As the press service of the Yuzhny state enterprise told UNIAN, on December 26 and 28, bulk carriers OCEANUS and WOOLLOOMOOLLOO moored at berths No. 6 and No. 5 of the state enterprise. The first one delivered 60,400 tonnes of coal for DTEK, the second one brought 73,400 tonnes for PJSC Centrenergo.

As noted in the port, these two ships are the last bulk carriers with energy coal in 2017. The unloading works are carried out on schedule.

Read alsoCoal stocks at Ukrainian TPPs crawl up 0.7% within weekAccording to the head of the port, Vitaliy Zhukovskiy, in 2017 the volume of transshipment of imported thermal coal in the Yuzhny amounted to more than 11% of the total freight turnover of the enterprise.

"From May to December, 18 Panamax vessels were processed in the Yuzhny. This is the biggest figure in Ukraine. Today, negotiations are underway regarding the future cooperation with cargo owners in 2018. The volumes and schedules of deliveries are coordinated, and projects for the development of production sites for increasing the processing of goods are being prepared," Zhukovskiy said.

It is noted that since May the state enterprise has unloaded more than one million tonnes of steam coal for state and private companies, of which 847,000 tonnes for DTEK power holding, and 412,500 tonnes for PJSC Centrenergo.
