Gas imports up 27% in Ukraine in 2017

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UAA1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The press service noted that the country imports gas for its own needs from the European countries exclusively.

"Already over the 768 days (for the third winter), Ukraine has not been importing gas for its own needs from the Russian Federation," Ukrtransgaz wrote.

As UNIAN reported earlier, at the end of November 2015, Ukraine gave up on purchasing natural gas from Russia’s energy giant Gazprom. In general, in 2015 the country doubled its gas imports from Europe compared with 2014, up to 10.3 bcm, while reducing by 2.3 times the purchase of hydrocarbons from Russia.

In 2016, Ukraine imported 11.1 bcm of gas from the EU exclusively, in particular from Slovakia – some 9.1 bcm, while from Hungary and Poland Ukraine bought  1 bcm each.
