Ukraine's Malyshev plant sells military hardware worth $105 mln in 2017

Ukraine's major manufacturer of armored vehicles, Malyshev Plant, which is part of state-run Ukroboronprom Concern, sold military equipment under export contracts in 2017 to the tune of over UAH 3 billion, or US$105 million, according to Ukroboronprom.

This is a record high figure for the enterprise, it said.

The result was due to 100% fulfillment of all tasks on time, including the completion of scheduled shipments of the Oplot tanks to the Kingdom of Thailand in 2017.

"Under the contract with Thailand, Malyshev Plant has only a few combat vehicles that need to be sent to the customer. The company plans to complete the implementation of the contract in the first quarter of 2018," the report said.

In addition, the plant has already shipped the fifth batch of engines and components to Pakistan for Al-Khalid 1 tanks.
