State-run enterprise Energoatom, the operator of Ukrainian-based nuclear power plants, boosted revenue from electricity sales by 6.8% in 2017, to UAH 46.04 billion, or US$1.6 billion, according to the company's report.
Payments of the wholesale electricity market for energy supplied by Energoatom in 2017 amounted to UAH 43.29 billion (94%), or $1.5 billion, while debts for supplied electricity were estimated at UAH 2.749 billion, or $96.3 million, it said.

The company's electricity output rose from 76.162 billion kWh in 2016 to 80.502 billion kWh in 2017. Energoatom's share in the Ukrainian electricity market was 55.2% over the period under review.
As reported by UNIAN, Energoatom reduced its net profit by 77.8% to UAH 187 million ($6.6 million).
During the 11 months of 2017, the company increased its revenue from electricity sales by 9.4% to UAH 42 billion ($1.5 billion) year-over-year.
UNIAN memo. Energoatom is Ukraine's largest electricity producer, accounting for about 50% of the country's overall power output. Energoatom is responsible for the safe operation of the country's nuclear power plants.
Ukraine ranks seventh globally in terms of the installed capacity of its nuclear power generating units. Energoatom operates four nuclear power plants across Ukraine with a total of 15 power generating units, all with VVER-type reactors. Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, operating six power units with a total capacity of 6 GW, is Europe's largest.
