Cabinet appoints new acting chief of Ukraine's State Grain and Food Corporation

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has appointed Iryna Marchenko Acting Chairman of the Board of the State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine (SFGCU), instead of Dmytro Gavrysh who resigned recently.

Relevant Order No.9-p of January 11, 2018, was published on the government portal.

"[This order has been issued] to appoint Iryna Oleksandrivna Marchenko Acting Chairman of the Board of the PJSC State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine, in accordance with the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry's proposal," reads the document.

Marchenko worked in AVANGARDCO IPL from 2007 to 2017. The company, owned by Ukrainian businessman Oleh Bakhmatyuk, is engaged in the production of shell eggs and dry egg products. Marchenko was the company's CEO for the past four years.

The State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine is a vertically integrated company that performs the complete cycle of operations with cereals and processed products, ranging from production to exports. The SFGCU has 55 branches, with a total working capacity of 3.75 million tonnes of crops. In particular, the total capacity of handling exports via the Odesa and Mykolaiv seaports is about 2.5 million tonnes of grain cargo per year.
