Russia’s major coal supplier off Ukraine’s sanctions list

The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine has lifted sanctions earlier imposed against a Russian coal supplier, Yuzhtrans, thus canceling the ban on foreign trade with the company.

The corresponding order of December 29, 2017, is published on the ministry’s website.

Sanctions were dropped on the same day the order was published.

Yuzhtrans is registered in Russia’s Rostov region bordering with Ukraine’s east.

Relevant orders came into force on December 9, 2017.

Previously, Ukrainian law enforcers suspected Yuzhtrans of illegally exporting coal from the occupied territories of Donbas.
