The deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in commodities was estimated at US$5.212 billion in January-November 2017, which was by 2.2 times up from a $2.33 billion deficit year-over-year (y-o-y), according to the Ukrainian State Statistics Service's website.
Exports of goods from Ukraine over the period under review grew by 20.6% y-o-y, to $39.486 billion, while imports of goods rose by 27.5%, to $44.698 billion, it said.
The ratio of coverage of imports by exports was 0.88 in the 11 months of 2017 against 0.93 y-o-y.
Ukraine traded with partners from 221 countries and regions over the period under review.

Exports of commodities to Russia increased by 11.6%, to $3.584 billion, while imports of goods from the Russian Federation grew by 38.2%, to $6.332 billion.
Earlier, the National Bank of Ukraine estimated the deficit of Ukraine's foreign trade in commodities in January-November 2017 at $7.836 billion.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the surplus of foreign trade in 2016 was $337.3 million, which was 90.9% down on the surplus recorded in 2015 at $3.828 billion, according to the State Statistics Service.
However, the National Bank of Ukraine said that Ukraine's foreign trade in goods and services showed a deficit of $5.581 billion in 2016.
