Ukraine's State Service of Geology and Mineral Resources has reported that a deposit with an estimated weight of 2.4 tonnes of gold has been found in the Carpathians of Zakarpattia region's Rakhiv district, according to the regulator's press service.
NJSC Nadra Ukrayny's subsidiary Zakhidukrgeologia carried out geological prospecting there, it said.

The department notes that "the results of [the geological survey] confirm the further exploration of deposits in the Rakhiv ore area is promising and preparation of facilities for raising investment and designating them as gold mines."
As UNIAN reported earlier, late last year, Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers extended a ban on gold and silver exports for 2018, having set zero quotas for shipments of raw gold and silver abroad.
