Ukraine exports 22.4 mln tonnes of grain since July 1

Ukrainian agribusinesses had exported 22.4 million tonnes of grain since the start of the 2017-2018 marketing year (MY, July 2017 – June 2018) as of January 18, according to the Ukrainian Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry's press service.

In particular, Ukraine exported 11.7 million tonnes of wheat, 3.9 million tonnes of barley, 13,200 tonnes of rye, and 6.7 million tonnes of maize.

Over the period under review, the agrarians also shipped 251,200 tonnes of flour abroad, including 250,400 tonnes of wheat flour and 800 tonnes of other types of flour.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian agribusinesses in the 2016-2017 MY exported 43.8 million tonnes of grain, which was a record high over Ukraine's independence. At the same time, revenue from grain exports increased by 6%, to $6.4 billion.

Ukraine harvested 65.95 million tonnes of grain and leguminous crops in 2016, which was 9.7% up from 2015, and a record high over the country's independence.
