Ukraine increased electricity exports by 28.6% in 2017 against 2016, to 5.166 billion kWh, according to the Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Ministry's website.
Over the period under review, Ukraine exported about 2.85 billion kWh of electricity to Hungary, which accounted for 55.2% of electricity sales abroad, 1.1 billion kWh to Moldova (22%), 895 million kWh to Poland (17.3%), 162 million kWh to Slovakia (3.1%), and 124 million kWh to Romania (2.4%), it said.
According to the ministry, electricity exports shrank by 10.6% in December 2017 alone year-over-year, to 458.7 million kWh.
