PwC auditors sue Ukraine's central bank

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) earlier excluded PricewaterhouseCoopers from the Register of Audit Firms that have the right to conduct bank audit.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UAA1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) auditors moved to sue the NBU, Ukraine’s central bank, requesting that the court declare illegal and cancel an “individual act”.

"The plaintiff has lodged a lawsuit with [the Kyiv's District Administrative] court against the National Bank of Ukraine to recognize the individual act unlawful and cancel it, recognize [NBU] actions illegal, requiring [from the NBU] certain action. The dispute arose out of public-legal relations falling under the jurisdiction of administrative courts and should be considered in the administrative court proceedings," reads the lawsuit filed with the court on January 23.

The individual act in question has not been specified.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the National Bank of Ukraine excluded the PricewaterhouseCoopers audit and consulting company from the Register of Audit Firms entitled to conduct bank audit in Ukraine. The reason for such a decision was the confirmation by PricewaterhouseCoopers of “unreliable” information about the financial and economic activities of PrivatBank, according to the NBU.

PricewaterhouseCoopers intended to appeal against the regulator's decision.
