Cabinet allocates $24,518 for families of Ukrainians killed in Kabul terror attack

Ukraine's Cabinet ordered the Infrastructure Ministry, as well as Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Khmelnytsky, and Chernivtsi Regional State Administrations to allocate UAH 100,000 in aid each family.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has allocated UAH 700,000 (US$24,518) in aid to the families of the Ukrainians who were killed in a terrorist attack in Kabul, Afghanistan, on January 20.

As UNIAN reported earlier, a group of terrorists penetrated into the Intercontinental Hotel in Kabul on the evening of January 20.

According to local media outlets, at least 43 people were killed in the attack. Some 126 people were rescued, 41 of them were foreigners.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the hotel attack.

On January 21, Ukraine's Foreign Ministry said there were Ukrainians among those killed in the attack. Later, the media reported that 14 foreigners, including nine Ukrainian citizens, were killed. However, the ministry confirmed the death of seven Ukrainians.
