The All-Ukrainian Energy Company has fulfilled its obligations to supply natural gas.
Ukraine's largest chemical giant, Odesa Portside Chemical Plant (OPP), has resumed the production of ammonia and carbamide thanks to a new gas supplier, the privately owned All-Ukrainian Energy Company.
"Today, the commissioning of the OPP has begun. One ammonia production unit and two carbamide production units are planned to be put into operation," OPP's First Deputy Director Mykola Shchurikov wrote on Facebook on Monday, January 29.

"The main obligation of the supplier [All-Ukrainian Energy Company] is to provide up to 3 million cubic meters of gas to launch the production and supply 60 million cubic meters of gas on a tolling basis every month," he added.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the OPP resumed the production of carbamide and launched the ammonia transshipment terminal in late October 2017 after an idle period since July 2017. However, it had to suspend its operation after the failure of a pump on November 1.
After a long break, the enterprise resumed work from March to July 10 in 2017 due to a deal with private gas traders, namely ERU Trading and ERU Management Services LLC, which agreed to deliver gas on a tolling basis, i.e. in exchange for the plant's products.
In late December, Shchurikov announced the re-launch of the plant on January 25 under a tolling agreement with the All-Ukrainian Energy Company.
UNIAN memo. The OPP, which is located in the town of Yuzhny in Odesa region, is Ukraine's second-largest ammonia and carbamide producer and the third-largest manufacturer of nitrogen fertilizers.
The company also handles shipments of chemical products arriving from CIS countries and exports. The company holds a monopoly in the national market of specialized services for the receipt, cooling and transshipment of ammonia.
