At the same time, net investment income without taking into account the conversion of debt into capital increased by 26%.
The net inflow of foreign direct investment into the Ukrainian economy in 2017 was at $2.307 billion, which is 29.4% lower than $3.268 billion recorded in 2016.
As a result of the completion of most recapitalization programs, the volume of banks' conversion of debt into charter capital decreased in 2017 to $0.6 billion from $2.1 billion in 2016, the National Bank of Ukraine reported on its website.
Without said transactions, net foreign direct investment in 2017 increased by 26%, to $1.8 billion.
