Technological costs of production, transportation and distribution of gas in 2017 rose by 16%.
Ukrainian households reduced the consumption of natural gas by 6% in 2017 against 2016, to 11.2 billion cubic meters (bcm).
The industry also cut gas consumption by 6%, to 9.1 bcm, the press service of National Joint-Stock Company Naftogaz of Ukraine said.

Meanwhile, technological costs of production, transportation and distribution of gas in 2017 rose by 16%, to 4.4 bcm. "The increase in the use of gas by this category of consumers is connected primarily with the growth of Russian gas transit shipments," the press service added.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine in 2017 consumed 31.9 bcm of natural gas, which was 4% down from 2016.
