Ukraine has enough gas to cover own needs – EBRD

Managing Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for Eastern Europe and the Caucasus Francis Malige believes Ukraine has enough gas to fully cover its needs in natural gas.

Speaking about the energy market, he told RBC-Ukraine media outlet on February 25 that there were situations when foreign companies made attempts to enter the Ukrainian gas sector, in particular, British Petroleum, Shell, and others.

However, they were "very successfully and quickly" ousted from the market.

In his words, it is necessary to create conditions for investors since they can provide Ukraine with technologies that are now not available in the country.
