State-run Ukrgasbank posts $23 mln in profit in past year

Ukraine's state-run Ukrgasbank posted UAH 623.791 million, or US$23 million, in profit in 2017.

The bank's uncovered loss for previous years as of January 1, 2018, was estimated at UAH 7.929 billion ($292.4 million), while its capital totaled UAH 5.629 billion ($207.6 million), reads the financial institution's report published on the website of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).

Following additional capitalization provided by the government in 2009, the bank's share held by the state, which is represented by the Finance Ministry, currently amounts to 95%.
