Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman says Ukraine has not yet passed the point of no return in the implementation of reforms, therefore the situation may change for the worse.

"Over the past four years, we have done a lot, but I can say for sure that it is not enough. We have not yet passed the point of no return, things can still change," he said, speaking in the Verkhovna Rada on Friday.

As UNIAN reported earlier, according to the Financial Times, Ukraine's growth rate represents a feeble bounceback after the 17% cumulative economic collapse in 2014-2015. It is slower than EU and global growth – and far less than needed to put the country firmly back on the road to recovery.

This year the National Bank of Ukraine expects about $2 billion in tranches from the IMF, as well as the EU and the World Bank loans to be issued to the government.

The central bank originally expected two IMF tranches in 2018 to the tune of $3.5 billion.

"A lack of the structural reform essential to maintain macrofinancial stability and continue cooperation with the IMF poses the main risk to the implementation of the mentioned scenario," the regulator said. "In case of premature termination of the IMF program, it may impede Ukraine's access to the international financial markets, which may bring higher currency depreciation and inflation expectations and raise probability of facing problems with external public debt servicing in the next years," the NBU said.
