Ukrposhta sells first bonds worth US$5.6 mln

The money raised will be used for buying new trucks and computers, upgrading equipment, and improving energy efficiency.

Public joint-stock company (PJSC) Ukrposhta, Ukraine's state-owned postal services provider, has sold the first bonds worth UAH 150 million (US$5.6 million).

"The issue of Ukrposhta bonds is, first of all, an opportunity to receive additional investments for the development of the country's major postal services provider," the company press service said, referring to Oleksandr Chernyavsky, first deputy General Director for Financial Issues at Ukrposhta.

According to Chernyavsky, money raised will be used for buying new trucks and computers, upgrading equipment, and improving energy efficiency.

A total of 6,000 Ukrposhta bonds were issued in "A", "B" and "C" series " worth UAH 600 million ($22.4 million) with a face value of UAH 100,000 ($3,726) each.

The ICU Group is a co-organizer of the 'A' series bond sales, which also took part in the placement of securities as an investor.

As UNIAN reported earlier, in November 2017, the National Securities and Stock Market Commission agreed to issue Ukrposhta bonds of "A", "B" and "C" series, with a total nominal value of UAH 600 million.

Ukrposhta in January-September 2017 posted UAH 415.5 million ($15.5 million) in net losses against UAH 15.2 million ($566,319) in profit year-over-year.

The company offers more than 50 types of services operating over 11,000 offices throughout Ukraine. The company employs about 76,000 people.

Every year, Ukrposhta processes and delivers over 240 million items of mail and 16 million parcels, handling 15 million money transfers and 83 million transactions on pension payments.
