Apricots become cheapest fruit in Ukraine as of July 1

Raspberries and blackberries are breaking all price records.

Ukrainian apricots became the cheapest fruit of domestic production as of July 1 as their price is UAH 30 (over US$1.1) per kilogram.

"Apples on the market cost UAH 40 (US$1.4) per kilogram. Seasonal black cherries impress with the price as they are sold for almost UAH 60 (US$2.2) per kilogram," the Ukrainian TSN TV news service said.

Meanwhile, strawberries have slightly fallen in price to UAH 39 (US$1.46), losing almost 27% of their value.

"Raspberries and blackberries are breaking all price records. It's definitely not worth buying the berries for making jam since their average price is UAH 95 (US$3.56) and UAH 155 (US$5.81) per kilogram, respectively," the report says.

As UNIAN reported earlier, current prices of fruits and berries are record high despite the high season on Ukrainian markets.
