Average wage in Ukraine grows to almost US$388 in April y-o-y

The average nominal wage of a full-time employee shrank by 8.9% in Ukraine in April 2020 against March 2020, while growing by 1.6% year-over-year (y-o-y), to UAH 10,430, or US$388.

Real wages in Ukraine in April 2020 decreased by 9.6% from March 2020, whereas they also reduced by 0.4% y-o-y, the State Statistics Service reported.

The average nominal rate of a full-time employee in Ukraine in April 2020 was 2.2 times up from the minimum wage set at UAH 4,723 (US$176).

The average pay in the city of Kyiv in April 2020 was UAH 15,278 (US$568), the report said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the minimum wage in Ukraine from January 1, 2020, increased by UAH 550 (US$20.44), to UAH 4,723 (US$176) per month, or UAH 28.31 (US$1.05) per hour.

According to the 2020 national budget, the minimum monthly subsistence wage will be UAH 2,027 (US$75.33) per capita from January 1; UAH 2,118 (US$78.71) from July 1; and UAH 2,189 (US$81.35) from December 1.
