Average wage in Ukraine: Latest stats

Real wages in January were up by 8.3% on year.

The average nominal wage of a full-time employee in Ukraine in January 2021 increased by 15% compared to January 2020 – up to UAH 12,337 ($440.43).

That's according to the State Statistics Service.

At the same time, compared to December 2020, the average nominal wage in January 2021 decreased by 13%.

According to the State Statistics Service, a January slide against December is an annual occurrence due to the fact that in the last month of the year, one-off payments are accrued, including benefits.

The State Statistics Service notes that the average nominal wage of a full-time employee in Ukraine in January 2021 was 2.1 times higher than the minimum wage set at UAH 6,000.

The lowest average wage in the country was recorded in Chernivtsi region at UAH 9,696 ($346.15), while the highest – in Donetsk region – at UAH 13,786 ($492.16).

The average salary in Kyiv in January 2021 amounted to UAH 17,533 ($625.93).

Minimum wage

The minimum wage in Ukraine from January 1, 2021 was increased to UAH 6,000 ($214.20).

From December 1, 2021, the plan is to raise it to UAH 6,500 ($232.05).

Hourly minimum wage in 2021:

From January 1, 2021: UAH 36.11 ($1.29);

From December 1, 2021: UAH 39.12 ($1.40).
