Operating banks in Ukraine post almost US$940 mln in profit in four months

Operating banks in Ukraine in January-April 2020 posted UAH 25.208 billion, or US$938.1 million, in profit, which was 39% more than in the same period of the previous year.

The banks' revenue for this period increased by 16.8%, to UAH 90.004 billion (US$3.3 billion), expenses grew by 9.9%, to UAH 64.796 billion (US$2.4 billion), the National Bank of Ukraine said on its website.

As UNIAN reported earlier, operating banks in Ukraine at the end of 2019 reported positive financial results estimated at UAH 59.6 billion, or US$2.2 billion. Their profit almost tripled compared to 2018.

Last year, the highest profit was reported by PrivatBank (UAH 32.6 billion, or US$1.2 billion), Raiffeisen Bank Aval (UAH 4.7 billion, or US$174.9 million), FUIB and UkrSibbank (UAH 2.6 billion, or US$96.8 million, each), and OTP Bank (UAH 2.5 billion, or US$93.04 million).
