Almost 9,000 farmers have applied for subsidies for bee colonies.
The Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade, and Agriculture expects that the farmers will utilize on time all funds allocated from budget to support beekeeping in 2020.
That's according to the ministry's report published on its website.
Number of applications submitted
As of today, the number of applications for a UAH 200 bee colony subsidy has reached almost 9,000, worth a total of UAH 96 million.

Interim results
"Interim results for bee colonies show that almost all funds allocated have been utilized. At the same time, the expected results for livestock are lower than expected," Deputy Minister Taras Vysotsky is quoted as saying.
It is noted that the ministry will see final results in a few weeks after processing all documents and forming a register of subsidy recipients. The deadline for application filing is October 1.
Also, the Ministry recalled that the deadlines for submitting applications in other areas of government support are still far off, and the department hopes that all farmers are aware of their opportunities.
Provisions in state budget
The 2020 state budget lays down UAH 4 billion in support to agricultural producers. Of this amount, UAH 1.2 billion is provided for the loan compensation program, UAH 1 billion – for partial compensation of the cost of machinery and equipment, UAH 1 billion - for livestock breeding support, as well as UAH 400 million – for gardening and farming.
On September 2, 2020, the Cabinet streamlined d the access of agricultural producers to the program to reduce the cost of loans, thus expanding the circle of recipients of state aid.
