Ukrainian Finance Ministry embarks on budget preparations for next year

Ukraine's Finance Ministry has begun drafting a budget declaration for 2022-2024.

The ministry's press service reported this on the official website.

"The Finance Ministry has begun the process of drafting a budget declaration for 2022-2024. The document defines the principles of budget policy and benchmarks of the national budget for the medium term and is the basis for drawing up a draft budget and forecasts of local budgets," it said.

Earlier developments

In December 2018, the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, adopted a draft law amending the Budget Code regarding the introduction of medium-term budget planning.

National budget for 2021

• On December 15, 2020, Ukrainian lawmakers adopted the draft law on the national budget of Ukraine for 2021.
• On December 25, 2020, President Volodymyr Zelensky enacted the law on the national budget of Ukraine for 2021.
