Ukrainian bus carriers are hesitant to restart operations over the government-imposed restrictions on the number of passengers per vehicle, that's according to ex-MP, transport expert Oleksandr Kava.

"The market of bus transportation is fully that of privately-owned carriers unlike in European countries, where there are municipal monopolies in city and suburban transport," the expert has told Ukraine 24 TV Channel.

"Accordingly, many carriers aren't willing to incur losses amid a small passenger flow," he added.

According to the expert, the government has no effective tools so far for forcing carriers to fulfill contractual obligations.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on the evening of May 26, Ukraine launched ticket sales for the first five express train destinations across country that will be available starting June 1.

That's express trains No 721/722 Kyiv-Kharkiv-Kyiv, No 726/725 Kyiv-Kharkiv-Kyiv, No 763/764 Kyiv-Оdesa-Kyiv, No 711/712 Kyiv-Kostiantynivka-Kyiv, and No 740/739 Kyiv-Kryvyi Rih-Kyiv.
