Cash in circulation outside banks in Ukraine grows by 7.3% in April

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) says cash in circulation outside the country's banking system in April 2020 grew by 7.3% from March 2020, to UAH 417.73 billion (US$15.7 billion).

Cash in circulation outside banks has raised by 8.7% since the beginning of 2020, the regulator said on its website on May 14.

Money supply (the monetary aggregate M3) increased by 1.9% in April alone, whereas it grew by 7.5% from the beginning of the year, to UAH 1.546 trillion (US$57.9 billion).

The monetary base expanded by 6.3% in April and by 7.2% from January 1, 2020, to UAH 512 billion (US$19.2 billion), the report said.

UNIAN memo. Cash in circulation outside Ukraine's banking system in 2019 grew by 6%, to UAH 385 billion (US$14.4 billion).

Money supply in Ukraine in 2019 grew by 12.3% to UAH 1.435 trillion (US$53.8 billion), while the monetary base increased by 9.6%, to UAH 477 billion (US$17.9 billion).
