The situation with the subways is more complicated.
Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Vladyslav Kryklii says no drastic changes regarding public transportation in Ukraine are planned before May 22; but more citizens will be able to use it after this date.
"If we are talking about wider groups of people who could use public transport, it will be after May 22. However, it should be noted that all transport will be functioning both in Ukraine and beyond Ukraine within new realities," he said at a morning TV show "Snidanok z 1+1" on May 7, as reported by the Ukrainian TSN TV news service.

"This implies the requirement to wear face masks everywhere, mandatory temperature screening in crowded places, and regular disinfection," he added.
That is, the Infrastructure Ministry has no plans to change the rules regarding [public] transportation before May 22. Those requirements that are currently in effect in cities will be applied further. They include a restriction on the number of people and the use of special passes in certain cities. The situation with the subways is more complicated. The ministry failed to give the date when this type of transportation is to reopen.
"It will be quite difficult to control how many people have entered subway cars. This requires certain time and efforts to organize this required procedure of verification and control. Therefore, [the issue will be under consideration] until 22, as no one is ready for the time being," the minister added.
Representatives of the Kyiv Metro (Kyiv Metropoliten), a municipally owned subway system, are also unaware when they will be allowed to resume operations. However, they say they are ready to work in any format.
"The Kyiv Metro is a fairly flexible enterprise even if our infrastructure seems to be very massive. We are waiting for a concrete solution to organize operations accordingly. We keep the entire subway infrastructure in good condition, so that work in the defined algorithm could start the next day after the decision is made," adviser to Kyiv Metropoliten's chief Natalia Makohon said.
As UNIAN reported earlier, on May 4, the government extended the quarantine until May 22, removing a number of curbs on businesses.
From May 11, the Cabinet allows to reopen parks, squares, recreation areas, beauty salons, hairdressers and barber shops, cafes and restaurants with outdoor tables.
