The United States of America is willing to help Ukraine in signing contracts for buying a COVID-19 vaccine, the Ukrainian health ministry reports.

The issue was discussed over the phone by Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov and U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Alex Azar, the ministry's press service wrote on Facebook.

Azar noted that ensuring that Ukraine gets the vaccine is among priorities for the U.S. government, the report says.

"Mr. Alex Azar promised to help enhance communication of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine with such vaccine manufacturers as Moderna, Johnson&Johnson, Pfizer, and Novavax to speed up the signing of contracts for the vaccine," the statement said.

Also, the U.S. official noted his readiness to strengthen cooperation on programs in fighting measles, tuberculosis, and other infectious diseases.
