NBU buys almost US$22.5 mln on Sept 7-11

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on September 7-11, 2020, bought US$22.5 million in the interbank forex market.

Over the period under review, the regulator did not sell the currency, according to the report by the NBU.

Since the beginning of the year, the central bank's purchases of foreign currency have exceeded sales by $1.217 billion, the report said.

Background

The NBU set the official forex rate for September 14 at UAH 27.90 to the U.S. dollar, which made the country's national currency weaken by seven kopiykas.
