Imports of goods in H1 2020 exceeded US$24.3 billion.
Ukraine posted US$47.3 billion in trade turnover in the first half of 2020 (H1) with the deficit of trade being estimated at US$1.4 billion.
Imports of goods in H1 2020 exceeded US$24.3 billion, which was 12% down year-over-year (y-o-y), the press service of Ukraine's State Customs Service said on July 14.

Ukraine's major importers over the period under review were China (15% of all imports), as well as Germany and Russia (9% each).
"They imported mostly: mineral fuel; oil and products of its distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes; nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery, equipment and mechanical devices, and their parts; means of land transport, except for railway or tram rolling stock, as well as relevant equipment and parts," the report said.
In January-June 2020, exports of goods totaled US$23 billion, which was 6% down y-o-y. Ukraine's key importers were China (13% of exports), as well as Poland and Russia (6% each).
Major export staples were grain, ferrous metals, fats and oils.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the State Customs Service in January-March 2020 revealed over 5,000 facts of the violation of the customs rules. The value of items involved in the violations was UAH 554.6 million (US$20.4 million).
Over 7,200 violations estimated at about UAH 1.16 billion (US$42.7 million) were reported in January-June 2020.
