Finance Ministry greenlights public access to urban developers' permits

Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov says the ministry has opened data on declarative and permitting documents from the construction operations registry.

"We are opening data on declarative and permissive documents from the construction activity registry, which was launched in early July as part of the implementation of the Unified State Electronic System in the field of urban planning in Ukraine," he wrote on Facebook on September 21.

Background

• In July, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved an experiment on the implementation of the first stage of the Unified State Electronic System in the field of construction. The goal is to improve quality of public services in the construction sector.
• In July, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal promised to complete the urban planning reform and eliminate shadow schemes in the industry in 2020.
• As of September 3, 2020, some 90% of Ukrainians supported efforts toward renovation and construction of roads, schools, and kindergartens as part of the Big Construction program introduced by the Ukrainian president.
