Ukrainians pay US$213,450 in debts and fines via government-developed Diia app

An electronic birth certificate option is also available in the beta version.

Debts and fines totaling UAH 6 million, or US$213,450, have been paid by Ukrainians with the use of the government-developed Diia (Action) mobile application.

This is reported by the Diia (diia_gov) channel on Telegram.

In particular, they paid 3,800 debts worth UAH 4.2 million (US$149,413) and 4,900 fines worth UAH 1.8 million (US$64,037).

To use these features, users must update their app to Diia 2.0.

Using the app, one can check information and pay fines for traffic violations (photo and video recording). As well as such functions as the monitoring and payment of debts for enforcement proceedings are available.

Users can track the change in the status of a debt or fine. Payment receipts are stored in the application.

Beta testing of the functionality for payment of fines and debts via Diia began in late September. An electronic birth certificate option is also available in the beta version of the application.

The State in a Smartphone

  • Early this year, Ukraine's Ministry of Digital Transformation presented the Diia mobile application and the Diia.Digital Education national online platform.
  • The Diia app is a specially developed application within the framework of the project for the digitalization of public services, created for the citizens of Ukraine. Using this application, one can store digitized versions of documents.
  • Now users of the application could use a number of digital versions of documents via a smartphone: electronic passports (foreign and ID cards), student IDs, driver's licenses, civil car insurance policy, vehicle registration certificates, birth certificates, and the like.
