Ukrzaliznytsia launches train between Kyiv and Avdiyivka, Donbas

The town is located on the very front line.

Joint-Stock Company (JSC) Ukrzaliznytsia on Sunday, December 13, launched a train from Kyiv to the town of Avdiyivka, Donetsk region.

This was announced Infrastructure Minister Vladyslav Kryklii on Facebook.

"Today [December 13] At 19:19 Kyiv time the first Mayak train departed from Kyiv to Avdiyivka. Previously, this train arrived at the Pokrovsk station, now the route has been extended. The train includes compartment and reserved-seat cars," he said.

The train will run from Kyiv to Avdiyivka and back every day and stop at the stations Myronivka, Taras Shevchenko Station, Znamyanka, Oleksandriya, Pyatykhatky, Dnipro-Main, Synelnykove-2, Pokrovsk, Ocheretyne, Avdiyivka, and others.

What is known about Avdiyivka

  • Before Russian aggression began in Donbas, about 35,000 people lived in that satellite city of Donetsk, now this figure exceeds 30,000.
