EU review mission on 'industrial visa-free' regime starts its work

Ukraine's Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture says the European Union preliminary assessment mission as regards Ukraine's readiness to sign an Agreement on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Products (ACAA), the so-called 'industrial visa-free regime' with the EU, has started to work in the country.

"On October 29, during an online meeting of [Ukraine's] Trade Envoy Taras Kachka, members of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, the European Commission's Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs, an agreement was reached to launch the EU preliminary assessment mission with regard to readiness of Ukraine's quality [control] infrastructure for conclusion of an Agreement on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Products (ACAA/'industrial visa-free regime')" the ministry said on its website on October 29.

Ukraine hopes for a special format of partnership within the European Union's Eastern Partnership initiative, being interested in signing the ACAA, which will be a significant step towards the country's European integration.
