The U.S. dollar in Kyiv's currency exchange booths strengthened against the hryvnia, Ukraine's national currency, as the forex rate changed by four kopiykas to UAH 26.89 on the morning of Tuesday, June 16, from UAH 26.85 on June 15.

The euro also gained in value against the hryvnia, as the rate changed by five kopiykas to UAH 30.30 per euro from UAH 30.25, according to an UNIAN correspondent.
Meanwhile, the U.S. dollar was sold for UAH 26.65 on average, while the euro for UAH 29.80 on June 16.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the National Bank set the official forex rate of the hryvnia for Tuesday, June 16, at UAH 26.84 to the U.S. dollar, which made the country's national currency weaken by 11 kopiykas. Thus, the hryvnia had seen losses against the U.S. dollar for the second consecutive day.
