Finance Ministry borrows almost US$189 mln on domestic market

Ukraine's Finance Ministry borrowed UAH 5.230 billion, or US$188.5 million, for the national budget at the latest weekly auction to place government domestic loan bonds held on March 9.

Funds in hryvnias were raised through the sale of five packages of securities worth UAH 550.7 million (US$19.9 million), UAH 1.27 billion (US$45.8 million), UAH 1.91 billion (US$68.9 million), UAH 1.24 billion (US$44.7 million), and UAH 256 million (US$9.2 million) with 203-, 329-, 581-, 770-, and 1,169-day maturity periods, and a weighted average yield of 9.03%, 10.62%, 10.96%, 11.80%, and 12.05% per annum, respectively, the ministry said on its website.

The Finance Ministry in 2020 raised UAH 258.8 billion (US$9.3 billion) to the national budget, as well as US$3.9 billion and EUR 845 million.
