Ukraine's hryvnia strengthens to UAH 27.35 to U.S. dollar on Aug 17

The official forex rate against the euro for Monday has been fixed at UAH 32.31.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on August 14 set the official forex rate for August 17 at UAH 27.35 to the U.S. dollar, which let the country's national currency strengthen by six kopiykas.

The official forex rate against the euro for Monday is fixed at UAH 32.31 per euro – the hryvnia gained 11 kopiykas in value since Friday, the NBU wrote on its website.

The central bank has fixed the following official forex rates of the hryvnia against key foreign currencies for August 17:

US$100 will be quoted at UAH 2,734.74 (UAH 2,740.83 as of August 14);

EUR 100 will be quoted at UAH 3,230.82 (UAH 3,241.85 as of August 14).

By 16:00 Kyiv time on August 14, hryvnia quotations against the dollar on the interbank forex market settled at UAH 27.33/27.35 to the dollar, while those against the euro were at UAH 32.27/32.29.

The U.S. dollar in Kyiv's currency exchange booths strengthened against the hryvnia, as the forex rate changed by five kopiykas to UAH 27.50 on the morning of Monday, August 17, from UAH 27.45 on August 14.

The euro has not changed in value against the hryvnia, as the rate remained the same, at UAH 32.50 per euro, according to an UNIAN correspondent.

Meanwhile, the U.S. dollar was sold for UAH 27.25 on average, while the euro for UAH 31.90 on August 17.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the NBU set the official forex rate for August 14 at UAH 27.41 to the U.S. dollar, which let the country's national currency strengthen by 12 kopiykas.
